A Place At The Table Raises $88,497
‘Glitz, Glamour and Ghouls…Hollyweird’ Rocks!

Memphis, TN, November 14, 2007—Dr. Ricci Hellman, Executive Director of Friends For Life Corporation, reports that the 10th annual A Place At The Table (APATT) fundraising event was a huge success, raising $88,497 to help support the vital services of the Mid-South’s oldest and most comprehensive AIDS service organization.

The finale of the APATT event was a ‘monster’ costume party titled, “Glitz, Glamour and Ghouls…Hollyweird”, held October 27 in the Creative Arts Building at the Mid-South Fairgrounds and it was filled with some of the most outrageous and creative costumes seen in years! Attended by 852 people, the costume party impressed everyone with the incredible decorations, excellent DJ, food and the energy in the air that was almost scary!

Friends For Life Board members Bill Burtch and Ken Beasley led a team of 40 committed community volunteers who worked for almost an entire year to make this year’s APATT one of the most successful yet. Approximately 50 APATT parties were held throughout the community over a two month period leading up to the finale. The event brought in funds to help support the programs of Friends For Life where the demand for services has increased by a dramatic 59% over the past four years with the organization now serving over 2,000 persons annually.
