HIV Prevention
Friends For Life's HIV Education Prevention Program is provided to the community by our staff of certified American Red Cross HIV Educators and Instructors. Our staff educators serve on the Southwest Tennessee HIV Prevention Community Planning Group, Tennessee HIV Prevention Community Planning Group and the Tennessee AIDS Council. We are active members of a number of community-related coalitions: Foundations Associates HIV Advisory Board, the Shelby County Coalition to Eradicate Syphilis, and the Memphis HIV Testing and Prevention Network.
Friends For Life education staff members annually participate in the following community events and national observances:
- World AIDS Day
- National HIV Testing Day
- National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness & Information Day
- National STD Awareness Month
- Black Church Week of Prayer & Healing of AIDS
- African American Pastor’s Consortium Educational Conference
