Mission Statement

The mission of Friends For Life is to provide critical services, basic needs, and outreach programs that empower those affected by HIV/AIDS to optimize their longevity and quality of life.  Our comprehensive, client-centered approach includes education, housing, food, transportation, healthcare, and healthy life skills.  We strive to enlighten the Mid-South community in a manner that heightens awareness, facilitates acceptance, and promotes prevention.

Vision Statement

The vision of Friends for Life is to be a financially secure provider of hope, help, and healing for Mid-Southerners affected by HIV/AIDS until ultimately HIV/AIDS is cured and we can proudly cease to exist.

What Is Friends For Life Corporation?

Friends For Life Corporation (FFL) is the oldest and most comprehensive AIDS service organization in the Mid-South, having been incorporated September 2, 1999 when two separate nonprofit AIDS service organizations, Friends For Life AIDS Resource Center and Aloysius Home, Inc., merged. Under the Friends For Life Corporation are two divisions: the AIDS Resource Center, begun in 1985 as the Aid to End AIDS Committee and Aloysius Home, begun in 1992 with housing services first provided in 1996.

Aloysius Home was founded in 1992, as a place for those with HIV/AIDS who had nowhere to go. When Aloysius Home first opened, many people thought of it as a place where people with AIDS went to die. It has become a place where people with AIDS go to live.

In September 2001, Friends For Life Corporation opened a major agency program, the Positive Living Center. Located at 43 North Cleveland, the Positive Living Center provides holistic services in the management of HIV/AIDS by addressing the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of persons affected by the disease.

Friends For Life Corporation is a non-profit, tax-exempt service organization with no political affiliations. Donations are tax-deductable as provided by law.
