Spanish Speaking Volunteers Needed
If you are fluent in Spanish and would like to be utilized as a Spanish-speaking volunteer, please contact Gina Fortner at 901.272.0855, extension 223.
Feast for Friends
Volunteers help prepare and serve hot, nutritious dinners to clients and their caregivers on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from about 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Approximately 4,300 meals are served annually through this program. Feast For Friends is held at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 1207 Peabody Avenue.
Food Pantry
Volunteers fill food bags for the clients on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, and work other times during the week stocking the pantry, usually Monday through Friday mornings.
Informational Exhibits & Educational Outreach
Volunteers staff tables at community events and health fairs to heighten awareness about HIV and related issues.
Positive Living Center
The Positive Living Center is a therapeutic holistic program that provides services to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of persons infected/affected by HIV/AIDS. Certification in any area is recommended in order to provide a service or teach a skill.
Volunteers are also needed to assist with day-to-day Operations and clerical duties. Contact Windy Nicholson at 901.272.0855.
Special Projects
Volunteers assist with planning and implementing special projects such as fundraising events and World AIDS Day events.
